Ally Financial launches fee-free Loyally rewards program for banking and auto customers
The digital bank’s new app-based program drops traditional point systems and minimum-balance requirements in favor of personalized discounts, brand partnerships and VIP experiences.

Ally Financial, the Detroit-based digital bank and auto lender, officially launched its Loyally rewards program on September 22, 2026, after running a pilot phase and an initial rollout to some customers back in May. The program is available through the Ally app to all existing bank and auto customers at no cost.
Loyally departs from the point-accumulation model common to many bank and credit card rewards programs. Instead of earning points redeemable later, customers get access to personalized discounts, brand partnerships and VIP event access directly through the app, with no minimum balance required to participate — a structure Ally has framed as removing the friction and fine print that can make traditional loyalty programs feel inaccessible to everyday depositors.
The company has said the program could translate into annual savings of up to $1,000 for customers who make regular use of its discounts and partnerships, along with VIP experiences it values at up to $10,000, though actual savings will vary by how actively an individual customer engages with the offers.
The launch extends Ally’s push to differentiate its all-digital banking and auto-finance business on customer experience rather than rate competition alone, at a time when online banks and traditional lenders alike have leaned on app-based perks to deepen relationships with existing depositors rather than compete purely on savings-account yields.
