- Goes to the reporting desk. Tell us what you have and how you came by it. If you need to be treated as a confidential source, say so in your first message and do not include sensitive detail until we have agreed how to handle it.

- Goes to the standards editor. Include the article, the passage and, where possible, a document supporting the correct version.

Confidential tips
We will protect the identity of a source we have agreed to treat as confidential. What we cannot do is promise security we do not control: ordinary email is not confidential, and a message sent from a work account may be visible to your employer. If the material is sensitive, make first contact from a personal device and account, and we will agree a safer channel before you send anything further.
What we do not handle here
We are a news publication, not a financial services firm. We cannot give investment, credit, tax or legal advice, cannot intervene in a dispute with a bank or lender, and cannot help with an application to any company we cover — including companies that appear in labelled sponsored articles. For a complaint about a regulated firm, contact the firm's complaints process and then the relevant regulator.

For permission to republish or quote at length, write to the editorial address. Short excerpts with a link and attribution to Wall Street Ledger do not need permission.
