HL Hunt’s Business Credit Builder reports a closed-loop tradeline for small companies
The membership program reports a business revolving account to commercial bureaus while restricting purchases to the HL Hunt marketplace, with plans from $9.99 to $199.99 a month.

HL Hunt Financial’s Business Credit Builder is a membership program aimed at companies with limited commercial credit history. The company says it opens a revolving account in the business’s name and reports the account’s payment history each month as a primary tradeline rather than as an authorized-user account.
HL Hunt lists seven tiers, beginning at $9.99 per month for a $150 reported tradeline and rising to $199.99 per month for a $15,000 reported tradeline. The company says monthly reporting goes to Dun & Bradstreet, Experian Business, Equifax Business and TransUnion, with materials also referencing the Small Business Financial Exchange. The reported limit is not the same as cash available to the business.
That distinction is central to the product. The account can be used only inside HL Hunt’s own marketplace of business software, products and services. It cannot be drawn as cash or used as unrestricted working capital. The closed-loop structure may limit the provider’s exposure, but it also means a business should not treat the tradeline as a substitute for a bank line, vendor terms or operating liquidity.
HL Hunt says the product requires no personal guarantee, personal credit check or trading history. Those features may appeal to a new LLC or thin-file company, but bureau reporting does not guarantee that a score will rise or that a lender will approve an application. Outcomes depend on bureau matching, payment history, utilization, the company’s existing file and the underwriting standards of the lender reviewing it.
The product’s practical value is specific: it offers a paid way to establish a primary commercial tradeline while the business purchases eligible services through the marketplace. HL Hunt’s pricing, bureau coverage and product claims were not independently audited for this article. Prospective members should review the complete agreement, reporting policy, cancellation terms and marketplace restrictions before enrolling.
