HL Hunt Financial’s payments product, HL Hunt Pay, has appeared on this site before covering its underwriting-stability pitch, its pricing tiers, its decline-recovery tooling and the breadth of payment channels it supports. Its marketing site also features a direct, self-authored comparison table stacking its own rates and features against two of the payments industry’s largest names: Stripe and Square.

In that table, HL Hunt lists a starting processing rate of 2.4% plus 30 cents per transaction, against what it states is 2.9% plus 30 cents for Stripe and 2.6% plus 10 cents for Square. It lists its own monthly fee as $0, compared with a stated $0 for Stripe and a range of $0 to $60 for Square depending on plan. On settlement speed, HL Hunt claims instant settlements are included on its Business-tier plan, while describing Stripe as charging an additional 1% fee per instant payout and Square as charging 1.75%.

The table extends into fraud detection and support claims as well: HL Hunt lists "500+ ML signals included" for its own AI fraud detection, against a stated add-on cost for Stripe Radar and a "basic only" characterization of Square’s offering. It also claims human, 24/7 support compared with email-only or enterprise-tier phone support at the two competitors named. The most pointed row in the table addresses account stability directly: HL Hunt labels its own approach to account shutdowns as "never," while describing "automated terminations" as "common" at both Stripe and Square and citing "frozen funds reported" as an issue at competitors — continuing a theme the company has used in prior marketing collateral. HL Hunt’s own pricing runs across three published tiers: a Starter plan at 2.4% + 30¢ for small businesses, a Business plan at 1.9% + 20¢ adding instant settlements and support for more than 150 currencies, and custom volume-based Enterprise pricing with a dedicated account manager and white-label options.

None of the comparison figures, fee percentages or account-shutdown characterizations in this article were independently verified by this publication. They are drawn directly from HL Hunt’s own marketing materials, dated 2026, and should be read as the company’s characterization of its competitors’ pricing and policies rather than a neutral third-party benchmark.
