Egyptian fintech MNT-Halan moves toward October IPO after $82 million debt raise

MNT-Halan, an Egyptian fintech company that provides microfinance, consumer lending, and payment services, is moving toward an initial public offering of its Egyptian subsidiary, MNT Tech Holding for Financial Investments, on the Egyptian Exchange under the ticker symbol HALN.CA. The company is planning to list approximately 20% of the subsidiary, with the offering expected to conclude in October 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

Ahead of the listing, MNT-Halan raised $82 million through securitized bond issuances, funding that supports its underlying lending operations. The bond raise is part of a broader 2026 debt-financing strategy under which the company has said it is targeting up to EGP 30 billion in total debt financing for the year — capital it uses to fund the microfinance and consumer-lending products that make up the bulk of its business in Egypt.

MNT-Halan operates in a market where a large share of the population remains outside the traditional banking system, positioning consumer microfinance and mobile-based lending as a growth category across Egypt and parts of the wider region. A partial listing on the local exchange would give the company a public valuation benchmark and a new funding channel, while allowing its existing shareholders to realize some liquidity ahead of what the company has described as further expansion plans. Specific terms of the offering, including the final share price and total proceeds, had not been disclosed as of early October 2026.
