MoonPay, a crypto payments infrastructure company, announced on September 23, 2026 that it has agreed to acquire North Capital Investment Technology in an all-stock transaction valued at more than $60 million. The deal is structured to give MoonPay direct access to regulated financial infrastructure it does not currently operate itself, rather than simply adding a new product line.

North Capital brings several licensed capabilities into the combined company: an SEC-registered broker-dealer, an alternative trading system known as PPEX ATS, a transfer agent, and investment-adviser registration. MoonPay said gaining these pieces directly — rather than partnering with a third party that holds them — is central to its strategy of supporting the issuance, custody, and secondary trading of tokenized real-world assets and private securities.

The acquisition places MoonPay among a growing group of crypto-native companies moving to acquire or partner with regulated broker-dealers and transfer agents as tokenization of traditional securities has drawn more mainstream interest in 2026. North Capital will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of MoonPay once the deal closes, though the transaction still requires regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions before it is finalized.
