Plus500 agrees to buy Hedge Capital Markets as it prepares a U.S. multi-asset push

The conditional acquisition of an SEC-registered broker-dealer and FINRA member would give Plus500 a route into the U.S. securities market ahead of a planned 2027 super-app launch.

Plus500 has conditionally agreed to acquire Hedge Capital Markets Inc., a U.S. broker-dealer registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and a member of FINRA. The company announced the deal on October 13, 2026, describing it as the route into the SEC-regulated U.S. securities market for a planned multi-asset platform.

Plus500 said the acquisition would support a U.S. super-app scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. The company already operates trading services in multiple markets, but a U.S. securities offering requires a different regulatory and operational foundation. Buying an existing broker-dealer can provide that foundation, although it does not make the transition automatic: the business must satisfy supervisory, capital, technology, customer-protection and market-access requirements.

The transaction is conditional and subject to customary closing conditions, including FINRA approval under Rule 1017. Plus500 said it would fund the acquisition from existing cash reserves, but the announcement did not make the future U.S. product available or guarantee the launch timetable. Until the deal closes and the relevant approvals are complete, the proposed app remains a strategic plan rather than a live U.S. brokerage service.

The strategic appeal is breadth. A U.S. multi-asset application could let Plus500 combine trading, investing and related financial products in one customer relationship. The challenge is that each asset class brings its own rules, disclosures, execution obligations and economics. The value of the acquisition will depend not only on obtaining the license footprint, but on whether Plus500 can build a compliant customer experience that is competitive in the crowded U.S. brokerage market.

The announcement establishes a corporate transaction and its intended use; it does not disclose the final closing date, the U.S. app’s complete product range or customer targets. Those details will determine whether the deal becomes a meaningful market entry or simply an option on future expansion.
