ScribeUp raises $13 million to help banks manage customers’ recurring bills
The embedded-fintech company’s Series A combines equity and venture debt to expand AI tools that identify subscriptions, reduce unwanted recurring charges and support financial institutions.

ScribeUp announced a $13 million Series A on October 19, 2026, giving the embedded-fintech company new capital to expand tools that help financial institutions manage customers’ recurring bills and subscriptions. The round combines $10 million of equity financing with a $3 million venture-debt facility, according to the company.
Curql Collective led the equity round, with Mucker Capital and Service Ventures participating. The investor mix is notable because ScribeUp is selling through financial institutions rather than relying only on a direct-to-consumer subscription app. Banks and credit unions can use recurring-payment data as a way to make checking accounts more useful, surface unwanted charges and create a more active financial relationship.
The product category sits between personal finance management and payments control. Identifying a recurring charge is relatively straightforward; helping a customer cancel it or dispute it without creating a new problem is harder. A bank-integrated workflow needs accurate merchant identification, clear customer authorization, reliable cancellation paths and careful handling of charges that are legitimate but simply no longer wanted.
AI can help classify transactions, detect changes in recurring amounts and present likely subscriptions, but financial institutions still need to explain what the system knows and what it is allowed to do. Customers should be able to review recommendations before a payment is stopped, and banks need controls for errors, merchant disputes, refunds and data privacy.
ScribeUp did not disclose a forecast for revenue or customer growth with the financing announcement. The immediate significance is strategic: a startup is raising institutional capital to make recurring-bill management a feature distributed through banks and credit unions, where the value will be measured by customer savings and engagement as well as by the software’s own adoption.
