Fibank and Bitpanda announce planned early-2027 crypto access inside My Fibank
The partnership is expected to bring Bitpanda’s digital-asset services into Fibank’s retail banking app in early 2027; the service is not live yet and customers cannot trade today.

Fibank, the Bulgarian bank formally known as First Investment Bank, and Bitpanda announced a partnership on October 12, 2026 to integrate digital-asset services into the My Fibank mobile application. The arrangement is expected to let customers access Bitpanda’s platform alongside their conventional banking relationship rather than requiring a separate app for the initial journey. Bitpanda Enterprise’s announcement says the service is expected to go live in early 2027; it is not live yet, and customers cannot trade through the My Fibank app today.
Bitpanda said the service uses its Bitpanda Enterprise infrastructure, which provides banks and financial institutions with access to digital-asset trading and custody technology. Fibank described the arrangement as the first integrated crypto service offered by a Bulgarian bank. The planned service is expected to support investments from €1 according to the announcement, although access will remain subject to Bitpanda’s approval process and the applicable customer and product eligibility rules once it goes live.
The planned integration could make digital assets easier to discover and fund within an existing banking app once it launches. It also places greater responsibility on the partners to explain the difference between a bank account and a digital-asset position. Crypto assets are not the same as deposits, can lose value, and may be subject to different custody, disclosure and consumer-protection arrangements than Fibank’s traditional products.
For Bitpanda, the partnership is another route into regulated distribution across Europe. For Fibank, it is intended to add a new investment category without requiring the bank to build a full digital-asset trading stack internally. The model still has to earn customer trust: the app must make pricing, execution, custody and tax information clear enough for a retail customer to understand what happens after the buy button is pressed.
Neither company disclosed expected transaction volumes or revenue from the partnership. The announcement establishes the planned integration and its initial terms, not the size of the resulting market. Its significance is that a Bulgarian bank intends to put a mainstream mobile interface around a third-party digital-asset service in early 2027, bringing the product closer to ordinary banking while leaving the underlying investment risk unchanged.
