OKTO brings Pix payments into AI chat with Agentic Pix
The payments company also launched OKTO Empresas, an API product for automated business-account opening and Pix-key creation in Brazil.

OKTO PAYMENTS launched Agentic Pix and OKTO Empresas in Brazil on October 19, 2026, pairing an AI-facing payment flow with an API for business onboarding. Agentic Pix is designed to let users complete Pix transactions inside an AI chat interface instead of being redirected to a separate banking or checkout screen.
The shift is from “click to pay” toward “ask and authorize.” A user might request a payment while discussing a purchase with an AI assistant, but the system still needs to identify the payee, show the amount, obtain explicit authorization and protect the account if the conversation has been manipulated. The convenience is real only if the payment confirmation is as clear as it would be in a conventional Pix flow.
OKTO Empresas addresses the supply side. The company says the API automates business-account opening and creation of Pix keys for gateways and banking-as-a-service platforms. That can shorten onboarding, but business identity, beneficial-owner checks, sanctions screening and account limits remain essential parts of the process.
Brazil’s Pix infrastructure makes the launch possible because consumers and merchants already recognize the instant-payment rail. The harder question is whether users will trust an AI interface to initiate a financial transaction. Providers will need strong spending limits, step-up authentication, audit logs and a reliable way to reverse or investigate fraudulent instructions.
OKTO’s launch is therefore an experiment in interface and infrastructure: bring a familiar instant-payment rail into a new conversational surface while automating merchant setup behind it. Adoption will depend on whether the added convenience outweighs the security and accountability questions.
